LAHORE:

The joint investigation team (JIT) constituted to probe the attack on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) ‘Haqeeqi Azadi March’ in Wazirabad has summoned former party leader Faisal Vawda over his earlier statement predicting bloodshed during the march.

The Punjab government included Vawda in the investigation and summoned him on Saturday (today).

The former PTI leader has been asked to appear with all documents and his Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC).

Thirty-five people, including Yasmin Rashid, Hammad Azhar, Faisal Javed, Imran Ismail and Omar Sarfraz Cheema, were summoned as well.

Vawda had appeared on private TV channel, where he had claimed that the march would be “bloody".

“Imran Khan’s peaceful long march is our right but I am clearly telling you I am seeing blood, deaths and coffins in this march," he had said.

Following the presser, a show-cause notice was issued to him. Later, PTI Chairman Imran Khan terminated his 'basic membership'.
