CM vows to utilise entire annual funds
Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi vowed on Thursday to utilise the whole provincial development budget of over Rs725 billion by the end of the ongoing fiscal year.
Presiding over a meeting held to review the Annual Development Programme (ADP), the chief minister expressed his satisfaction over the pace of projects and utilisation of funds under the plan. Progress on the ADP for 2022-23 came under a comprehensive review during the meeting.
The chief minister said while addressing the meeting that the volume of the Punjab ADP had been increased to almost Rs726 billion during the current fiscal year.
He said the credit for presenting a development plan of this size for the first time went to his government.
Development funds were released on August 5 and a new record had been set by utilizing Rs196 billion during the past four months, he added.
He said the government would set a record by utilising the funds amounting to over Rs725 billion by the end of the fiscal year.
Meanwhile, the CM approved a waste-to-energy project while chairing a meeting with a Norwegian firm that offered to generate 55 megawatts of electricity daily for the Sundar industrial estate.
