KARACHI:

Shoaib Malik has finally opened up on speculations about his divorce from Indian tennis star, Sania Mirza. While he neither accepted nor denied the ongoing separation rumours, the cricketer asked people to “leave it alone” and not poke questions about their “personal matters.”

Speaking to The Express Tribune, Malik shared he did not appreciate the constant media pressure to address his separation gossip from his wife of 12 years. “It is our personal matter. Neither I, nor my wife is answering this question. Leave it alone,” he said firmly.

Mirza and Malik have announced their own reality talk show, titled The Mirza, Malik Show on a digital streaming service. Upon future plans of venturing into showbiz, the all-rounder said that he will always be open to any opportunity that comes his way. “I do not close any door for myself. If a good opportunity comes up, I will not refuse. Let's see what happens next,” he said, adding that he has already hosted a couple of shows.

However, he went on to say that he barely gets much time to dedicate to a showbiz career with his family around. “Izhaan has also started school now. I shall focus on giving maximum time to my family,” he exclaimed.

While a biopic is in production on the fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, Malik was asked whether he has any plans on bringing his life on screen, and if yes, which actor he thinks will suit his role the most. “I have many friends in the entertainment industry in both countries (India and Pakistan.) I don't want to offend anyone. If I ever think of making a biopic, I would definitely answer this question. Currently, there is no such plan,” he concluded.
