CTD foils terrorist attack on polio team in DI Khan
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and security forces on Tuesday foiled a terror attempt on a vaccination team on the fifth and final day of the anti-polio campaign in the district.
Besides, an unidentified armed men attacked the convoy of Dera DPO in which an officer was injured.
According to details, three terrorists were killed in a joint operation by the CTD police and other security forces.
The security forces, intelligence agencies, and the CTD conducted a joint operation along with the local police on the information of terrorists in the Daraban police station remits of Dera Ismail Khan. Upon seeing the forces, the terrorists opened fire on them.
As a result of retaliatory firing, three terrorists identified as Muneeb, Junaid, and Shaukat were killed. The slain terrorists belonged to the TTP Gandapur group.

Kalashnikovs, two pistols, hand grenades and mobile phones were recovered from their possession. According to the police, these people were involved in various terrorist activities.
Furthermore, DPO Dera Muhammad Shoaib visited Daraban, Darazanda and Purwa Circle to check the security arrangements of the five-day polio campaign in Dera Ismail Khan. Terrorists fired indiscriminately at Shoaib's convoy near BHU in the Khoi Behara area.
Due to the firing from an unknown direction, the vehicles of the squad, including the DPO's, were damaged. The Dera DPO remained safe in the attack while an officer in the vehicle was injured
The terrorists managed to escape from the retaliatory firing under the command of DPO Dera Shoaib. Soon after, the police surrounded the area along with Pakistan Army and a search operation was initiated.
Despite the attack on the DPO squad, DPO Shoaib completed the polio campaign. Shoaib said, “Despite the attack on the police, the polio campaign has not been postponed.”
