Morality based world order needed: Alvi

President says comity of nations rejected alliances based on vested interests

President Dr Arif Alvi on Monday said that the world at the moment is looking for some kind of morality based world order instead of cooperation based upon vested interests.

Alvi made these remarks in in the inaugural ceremony of 1st Pakistani-Polish International Scientific Conference organised by the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) department of International Relations at Governor House.

He said that modern day challenges like global warming and climate change have no regard of international borders therefore no country can live in isolation and all nations share similar perils.

Alvi said that the cooperation in present times is no longer dependent on travel documents like visa because nowadays people stay in one country while they work in other one.

He appreciated FUUAST for organizing the event and said that conference theme "Pakistan-Poland Relations: Challenges & Opportunities in the Changing World Order", is also very important".

Sharing details of First Pakistani-Polish International Scientific Conference, FUUAST IR Dept Chairman Dr Asghar Ali Dashti said the conference will be held on December 6-7 at IBA City Campus Karachi.

It has been jointly organized by the department of IR Federal Urdu University of Arts Sciences and Technology (FUUAST) Karachi and Institute of Political Science, University of Warmia and Mazury Poland, he said.

He said that the conference aims to provide an opportunity for academicians, professionals and students to have an exchange of innovative ideas on the emerging fields between both states. He said that this was the 1st conference being organized with Polish University under MoU signed between Federal Urdu University (FUUAST) and University of Warmia and Mazury Poland last year.

University of Warmia and Mazury Prof Arkadiusz Zukowski said, "we are engaged in research work at international level and we want to cooperate in different fields."

He said the FUUAST and University of Warmia and Mazury - Poland inked the agreement of mutual cooperation last year.

FUUAST acting VC Prof Dr Mohammad Ziauddin said that the faculty members of the FUUAST's IR department made tireless efforts for making this conference possible.

He said that Poland is the fourth largest country in European, which is located at an important geographical position as also considered as gateway to Europe.
