‘Gang of four’ caught stealing bikes

Suspects identified as Rao Allah Varayo, Ashoq Jangi Khan, Jawad Sohail and Asif Hanif

Karachi police busted a gang of four suspects and recovered stolen motorbikes from them during a crackdown in the Lines Area within the limits of Brigade police station on Sunday.

Taking notice of the rising incident of motorcycle theft, the CIA SSP Mohammad Anwar Khatran conducted a special operation to arrest the criminals.

During the operation, a suspect tried to escape by firing at the police party to avoid arrest. Police returned fire and injured him. He was shifted to hospital for medical treatment, while three other gang members were also arrested in the same operation.

The suspects were identified as Rao Allah Varayo, Ashoq Jangi Khan, Jawad Sohail and Asif Hanif.

Police have also recovered two stolen motorcycles and a pistol from their possession. They found the accused to be involved in criminal cases. However, further investigations are underway, and more recoveries are expected.
