The CPO has suspended a sub-inspector who had allegedly kept two persons in illegal custody and later sent them to jail in a robbery case.

An inquiry against Naveed Ahmed had also been ordered which would be conducted by an SP. In the case filed by the newly-appointed SHO of the Millat Town Police Station, Rana Mugfoor Ahmed, it was stated that the then investigation officer of the Millat Town Police Station, Naveed Ahmed, had arrested Dilawar and Majeed Abbas and kept them at a private place.

On November 30, he disclosed the arrest of the accused Dilawar and Majeed Abbas and by exceeding his authority, he later threw them in jail under the provision of a robbery case.

Police registered a case against the then investigation officer (IO), suspended him under the provisions of 343-155C, sent him behind bars and ordered an inquiry against him.
