Police seize illegal weapons, drugs and liquor

BAHAWALPUR:

District police claimed to have arrested 10 suspects and seized weapons and narcotics during raids conducted in different areas.

A spokesman said the Bahawalpur police arrested four suspects and seized weapons from their possession. After receiving a report, teams from three police stations conducted a raid and detained four suspects, seizing a Kalashnikov, two pistols and a rifle. Separate FIRs were registered against the suspects at PS Sama Satta, Anayiti and Hasilpur. The police launched investigations into the cases.

Meanwhile, teams from four police stations arrested four suspected liquor sellers. The spokesman said teams from PS Sama Satta, Musafir Khana, Qaimpur and Anayiti raided dens within their jurisdiction and arrested four suspected liquor sellers. The police seized 151 litres of liquor from their possession and registered cases against them.

Similarly, the police arrested two alleged drug peddlers and seized 2.47kgs of hashish from their possession. The Bahawalpur police spokesman said that acting on a tip-off, teams from PS Saddar and Civil Lines arrested the alleged drug pushers and seized the narcotics.
