FAISALABAD:

A special police team has expressed its dissatisfaction over the departmental training of more than 4,000 constables. According to police officials, men who were recruited four years ago now need to undergo refresher courses.

According to the police officials, a special committee has observed that the constables who were trained in the local police lines and assigned various tasks were not capable of discharging their duties efficiently for want of required standard of training and knowledge.

The team also recommended that all such constables be sent in batches to the police training school in Chungh, Lahore and other training centres for refresher courses. The team also noted that during the recruitment process initiated between 2006 and 2007, nearly 6,000 police constables were recruited but they were not formally trained as per laid down procedure.
