QUETTA:

Balochistan has been in the clutches of yet another financial crisis for the last few months, halting work on various projects due to non-availability of funds.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddoos Bizenjo has decided to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif along with all parliamentary leaders of the provincial parties of the Balochistan Assembly to develop a consensus and find a way out, an official handout said on Tuesday.

Bizenjo will also draw the PM’s attention to the slow progress in the implementation of federal governmentfunded projects. Before meeting the PM, Bizenjo will take all political leadership, members of the Senate and the National Assembly into confidence with regard to the financial crunch.

The chief minister instructed the planning and development department and the finance department to prepare a comprehensive briefing on the progress of federal government projects and the financial situation of the province.

The chief minister said that in this meeting the prime minister will be given a full briefing, hoping that the PM will pay attention to the problems faced by the provincial government. This decision has been made after the P&D department conveyed about the lack of funds for the execution of development projects across Balochistan.
