Schoolteacher kidnapped from Peshawar
A schoolteacher of Warsak Model School was kidnapped from Peshawar which sparked a protest from his students on Thursday.
Police told The Express Tribune that Shan Ali Khan was kidnapped from Hussainabad, Gul Bahar area of Peshawar by unidentified men. They took him away to an undisclosed location.
The students of Warsak Model School staged a protest demonstration and blocked main Warsak Road for all kinds of traffic which resulted in a traffic jam for hours. They also boycotted classes as a protest measure, demanding of the government to take action against those responsible for the shameful act.
In a separate incident, two young men were gunned down over a land dispute on the outskirts of Peshawar.
Police said that complainant Muhammad Osama lodged an FIR with police in badly injured condition, stating that he was present with Arshad Gul and Abdul Samad and they were chatting when accused Asadullah and Javed reached there and opened fire at them, leaving all of them injured. They were rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) where Arshad and Samad succumbed to their injuries. The attackers managed to escape after committing the crime.
Police said that the accused and the victims had a property dispute. Both the bodies were sent to Khyber Medical University for an autopsy. Police opened investigation in the case.
Meanwhile, a man was found dead under the BRT flyover near Karkhano Market. Police said that there were no signs of any torture on the body and the family members had been contacted. “The deceased is a young Afghan refugee who died mysteriously. We were informed about the presence of the corpse following which police took it into custody and shifted it to police station. Later it was sent for an autopsy,” said a police official.
