Unidentified armed suspects deprived citizens of cash, valuables and motorcycles at gunpoint in six separate incidents reported in the city on Tuesday.
Three unidentified armed suspects entered a hotel in Mana Mor. The suspects took the hotel owner and staff hostage at gunpoint and looted Rs100,000 in cash, one motorcycle, licensed weapons and two mobile phones before making good their escape.
The armed suspects also looted Rs20,000 in cash and a mobile phone from Abdullah Medical store, situated within the premises of Gagu Mandi police station.
Similarly, three unidentified armed outlaws looted cash Rs200,000 from Javed Paint House situated in the premises of Model Town police station. Another citizen, Sohail resident of Village 435/EB was deprived of cash and a mobile phone by armed outlaws in the premises of Sadar police station.
Meanwhile, two citizens were also deprived of cash and valuables within the premises of Sadar police station on Tuesday.
Police started the investigations into the incident, sources added.
On the other hand, locals staged a protest demonstration against the rising incidents of robbery and theft in the city.
