Murree admin sets up 13 centres to facilitate tourists

Two new districts start getting manpower, machinery

With the appointment of deputy commissioners, the newly established districts of Murree and Talagang have formally started working.

Each district has been provided Rs1 billion to purchase vehicles and other related machinery. Both the new deputy commissioners have been ordered to open public accounts in the Bank of Punjab.

Sources said that resident employees of both districts, who work in different offices in the Rawalpindi district, have also been given the choice to join offices in their native districts.

Both districts will be allocated assets including vehicles, employees and machinery for different departments.

A letter has been issued to secretaries of provincial ministries for the appointment of district heads of 43 different departments.

Letters have also been sent to the federal government to open NADRA and passport offices in the new districts.

According to the sources, the notification for the appointment of district heads of all departments will be issued in the next seven days.

The status of Rescue 1122 in Murree has also been upgraded and orders have been issued to give them more vehicles and motorcycles.

In the third phase, district and sessions judges and senior civil judges will be appointed in both the new districts.

According to the sources in the Murree deputy commissioner’s office, a list has been prepared for the appointment of officers and staff in different departments.

Murree district consists of two tehsils Murree and Kotli Satian. In the new district, initially, there will be four police stations along with three to four police check posts.

A 100-kanal has been acquired near Murree motorway for the establishment of a fully-fledged district headquarters.

The revenue department of Murree district has developed its formal organisational structure. The boundaries of the new district have also been determined.

According to the revenue department, the total area of the new district will cover 724 hectares kilometres, while the total population will consist of 1.25 million people. The total number of voters in the new district will be 662,068, of which the number of male voters is 342,049, while the number of female voters is 320,019. There will be separate MPA seats for both tehsils.
