DI KHAN:

A six-year-old child who went missing on November 15 from DI Khan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) was found on Sunday.

Police told The Express Tribune that the father of the deceased, Khana Zad lodged an FIR with University Police Station on November 15, stating that he was shifting to a new house from his Ghani Town residence during which he left behind his two sons Adnan, 9, and Hussainullah, 7, behind with the household items.

“When I came back I found Hussainullah missing. Adnan told me that our neighbour and relative, who is also a 10-year-old, locked me up in a room and took Hussain with him,” he said, adding that he rushed to the house of the relative but his father denied that his son had taken away the child.

On Sunday the body of the child was found in sugarcane fields. District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Shoaib formed an investigation team to investigate the case thoroughly and ordered the arrest of the juvenile accused.

“Both the deceased and the offender are children. They are first cousins and belong to the Mehsud tribe of Waziristan currently living in Dera,” said a police official, adding that the matter would be investigated properly and the findings would be made public.
