LAHORE:

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has done a great religious service by helping the Tablighi Jamaat ward off problems in Saudi Arabia.

Talking to the participants of a ceremony after inaugurating triple-linked roads at Pajian Chowk in Raiwind, the chief minister said he had asked the army chief to request the Saudi authorities to not take action against the religious movement. The chief minister said that unfortunately, due to a few people, the positive image of the Muslims had been badly affected across the globe.

The CM said he had directed all the departments to expeditiously complete the development work in Raiwind.

He directed the departments concerned to complete the projects as per the target by March.

He said patrolling posts and Rescue 1122 centres for giving emergency help were being established for protecting the people in the Raiwind area.
