RAWALPINDI:

The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) is set to build a state-of-the-art mega project which will include a health club, swimming pool, cinema theatre, gym, zip line, cyber room, and an indoor games room in Allama Iqbal Park, Rawalpindi.

This mega project is estimated to cost around Rs220 million. The project design has been sent to Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for approval. Once it’s approved and the Punjab government issues the required funds, the project construction will begin early next year.

A new beautification project comprising the construction of the new green site and modern parks, and Miyawaki forests is also on the cards. All these projects will be completed through a joint venture with the Urban Unit of the provincial government.

According to Chairman PHA Asif Mehmood, the government has issued instructions to all seven PHAs of the province to make new plans for the beautification of cities, family tourism, and sports activities in cities. He said that for the sake of the enjoyment of families and children, separate leisure areas will be built. There will be gyms where both men and women could come to exercise, a game zone for children to thoroughly enjoy, and a food street for families.
