Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Tuesday performed the ground breaking ceremony of the Kumrat Road project in Dir Upper district apparently for the third time in three years.
Kumrat is a famous picnic spot but there is no paved road to access the valley and tourists have to hire 4x4 vehicles to reach the scenic location.
The ground breaking of the road was performed by the chief minister in 2020 initially but no progress was made in this regard.
In 2021 it was repeated for the second time by the CM during his visit to Dir and finally on Tuesday, the ground breaking was done for the third time.
CM Khan on this occasion once again accused the federal cabinet of being involved in creating financial instability in K-P by withholding its budgeted share.
He said that the Centre wanted to pave the way for governor rule, adding that a democratically elected government was toppled under the “regime change conspiracy” first and “internationally recognized thieves and corrupt politicians” were installed.
The chief minister made it clear that the federal cabinet is not representative of Pakistan and has been installed in power to serve alien interests, adding that the time for the ‘do more’ narrative has come to an end and Pakistanis now demand relations with the international community on an equality basis.
While addressing a huge public gathering on the true independence march in Upper Dir, Khan clarified that Chairman PTI Imran Khan is working to achieve true independence in the country and for the purpose, he even faced an assassination attempt.
He clarified that corrupt political rulers of the country wanted to remove Imran from the political landscape, by any means possible, to pave the way for serving foreign interests and continuing their corrupt practices.
During his day-long visit to Upper Dir, the chief minister also inaugurated various developmental projects and also performed groundbreaking ceremonies.
He inaugurated Rescue 1122 building in Ankar which been completed at an estimated cost of Rs53.56 million.
Similarly, he held groundbreaking for the Cadet College which will be established over an area of 514 kanals and will house 600 students.
The project will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs3.6 billion.
Groundbreaking for the 44-km Patrak to Thal Kumrat road was also held in addition to construction, rehabilitation and widening of over 30 km of link roads at various spots in the district.
The CM reiterated that the provincial government, despite various attempts by the imported federal cabinet to halt the developmental activities, will continue its development agenda and will utilize every political, constitutional and legal means to get the due share of province.
He clarified that Chairman PTI Imran Khan is fighting for the future of the country and the people of Pakistan support him completely in his struggle.
He maintained that people from all over K-P would participate in the true independence march to root out corrupt politicians from the political landscape of Pakistan.
While addressing the public gathering at Dir Chowk, he made it clear that the development policies and reforms of the provincial government, during the last four years, have started yielding positive results and the province has been put on the road to development.
He criticized the past governments for not having spent public money on the welfare of the people and instead filled their coffers.
Referring to the groundbreaking of two female degree colleges during his visit, Khan said that provision of equal educational opportunities for the female segment of society is one of the main manifesto of the PTI government.
