Pakistani cricket fans across the globe sat with bated breath and a mixture of emotions today in hopes of watching history repeat itself after the men in green secured a place in finals after 13 long years. But perhaps, even reaching the finals was a big feat for us and fans are proud of their team as always!
From sending their love and respect to Shaheeh Shah Afridi after his injury mid-match to commenting on our shortcomings and celebrities took to their social media to cheer up the green shirts for putting up a good fight and trying their best till the very end.
“Thank you brave ones for putting up a good fight, that’s what matters. Proud of my team, always,” wrote Mawra Hocane in an Instagram story with a painted face for the match.
Zara Noor Abbas also chimed in. “Luck wasn't on our side today! Losing the toss and losing Shaheen at a crucial time cost us the World Cup!” she wrote in a tweet. “Either way, well played boys! Proud of the fight you put up! Pakistan Zindabad.”

Humayun Saeed asked the men in green to buckle up and not lose hope but continue with the “incredible spirit” that they held throughout the tournament. “Winning and losing will continue what matters are the incredible spirit with which the Pakistan team bounced back in the tournament and continued to fight till the last ball.
