CDA retrieves 60 kanals of state land
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday retrieved 60 kanals of state land and confiscated 13 truckloads of encroachment material during various operations.
According to a statement, the anti-encroachment drive was conducted on the instructions of the CDA chairman Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman Younis.
The Enforcement Directorate of the civic body with the assistance of the ICT administration and Islamabad police conducted grand operations against illegal constructions in different areas of Islamabad, the statement read.
As a result of these operations, dozens of illegal constructions were demolished with the help of heavy machinery, it added.
These operations were started from Kuri Dhok Balag village, in the suburbs of the capital, where the 'land mafia' was trying to occupy the government land, the statement read.
CDA Revenue Department carried out a demarcation process in this regard which pointed out that the constructions were built on the land acquired by the CDA. In light of the indications of the environment department, an attempt to grab 60 kanals of land was foiled by demolishing the boundary wall built on the CDA land.
Similarly, in line with the directions of the Chairman, the enforcement department has started a special campaign to eliminate encroachment from public corridors and footpaths in the centre of various sectors and commercial areas of Islamabad.
Operations are being carried out in the said areas daily. During this campaign, the enforcement department took action against encroachments in Sector F-11 Markaz, F-10 Markaz, F-7 Markaz, G-9/4 Peshawar Mor.
