'Incredible comeback': Congratulatory messages pour in for team for reaching T20 final

PM congratulates the green shirts for 'an incredible comeback'

Pakistan beat New Zealand in the T20 World Cup semi-finals on Wednesday paving its way to the MCG for the grand finale in Melbourne on November 13.

Following the Pakistani team’s exceptional victory, politicians, journalists, and the military took to Twitter to congratulate the squad.

Prime Minster Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the boys in green and said it was “an incredible comeback”.

In a message to the team, Chief of the Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa congratulated the team for “a stellar performance”.

“Congratulations Team Pakistan for a stellar performance and winning #SemiFinalT20WC. Good luck for the final,” the military’s media wing quoted the army chief said.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran khan also wished the Green Shirts.

“Congratulations to Babar Azam and the team for a great win,” he said.

Reacting to the incredible victory of the Green Shirts, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Babar Iftikhar also congratulated Pakistan cricket stars for a “stellar performance”.

“Good luck for the final,” the military’s media wing added.

PTI senior leader Asad Umar said today’s match was reminiscent of 1992.

“A great match has been played. Pakistan Zindabad. Reminiscent of 1992,” he tweeted.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah also congratulated the team and extended wishes for the final.

PTI senior leader Fawad Chaudhry congratulated the team and said “Cricket unites Pakistan”.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb also tweeted and said “Pakistan will lift the trophy on Sunday”.

Political analyst Mazhar Abbas also tweeted congratulating the country on the win.

“I said it in the morning about the first six overs. Pakistan bowled well in the power play, got two wickets and restricted NZ to 40. They also scored 50 in its powerplay. Result is before us,” he said.

Senior journalist Kamran Khan tweeted and said, “In this heartbreaking environment in the country, there are precious moments of immense happiness for the entire nation.”

Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan also congratulated the national cricket team for reaching the T20 World Cup final.

"The Pakistan cricket team completely overshadowed the game" he added.

Journalist Shahzeb Khanzada also congratulated the greens.

Senator Ejaz Chaudhary also congratulated the team.

PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi said, “hands are raised in prayer for victory in the final”.

The Delegation of the European Union to Pakistan also extended wishes to the winning team.
