Sikh special train derails near Jaranwala
Special train was carrying pilgrims from interior Sindh to Nankana Sahib
LAHORE:
Nine bogies of the first Sikh special train derailed at the Jaranwala section of the track.
The special train was carrying pilgrims from interior Sindh to Nankana Sahib on the 553rd birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak. The pilgrims sustained minor injuries.
Railway traffic was suspended on the Lahore-Jaranwala section of the track, which was cleared after eight hours.
The pilgrims were sent to Nankana Sahib via another train.
Pakistan Railways CEO Salman Sadiq has ordered an inquiry into the accident.
