Twitter is reportedly working on paid DMs to celebrities
In another effort to generate revenue, Elon Musk's latest acquisition, Twitter, is reportedly going to introduce paid Direct Messaging (DM) to celebrities.
The New York Times reported that internal documents and two employees working at the company revealed the news of the DM feature. The fee structure for the DMs hasn't been finalised by Twitter yet but the report predicts it to be “as little as a few dollars per direct message.”

According to the reporter, Twitter would receive a portion of the fees, while the messages would be categorised under a special DM inbox. Celebrities would have to opt in to receive messages from their fans.
While it is still unclear if the feature would be launched or not, the news throws light on the ongoing proposed/in-progress changes that have been taking place rapidly ever since Elon Musk took over the company.
