HYDRABAD:

Jeay Sindh Mahaz (JSM) Chairman Riaz Ali Chandio said on Friday that his party would hold protests across Sindh for three consecutive days till November 6 against Sindh government’s failure to help the flood affected people and the killings of two young men in Macchar colony, Karachi, by ‘illegal immigrants’.

At a press conference in Jamshoro district on Friday, Chandio deplored that the Sindh government was trying to suppress the voices raised over the grievances of the people of Sindh.

According to him, all the suspects arrested in connection with the lynching of Ayman Javed and Ishaq Panhwar in Macchar Colony turned out to be illegal immigrants. The slum spreading over 4.5 kilometers has a dense population of people of Bengali and Burmese descent. But, he bemoaned, the government is taking no serious action against such immigrants who are time and again found involved in various crimes.

He contended that PPP’s Sindh government has been compromising over the rights of Sindh’s native population so that it can sustain itself in the power. The JSM’s chairman said the raid by the law enforcement agencies at his residence in Karachi was an attempt to frighten him so that he can withdraw from pursuing the Macchar Colony incident.

Chandio said millions of Sindhis have been affected by the rains and floods this year but the provincial government has miserably failed to come to their help. Government could neither prevent or reduce the magnitude of devastation nor it is taking any meaningful measures for rehabilitation of the people and their livelihood.
