Police have registered a case against the workers of the nationalists parties for raising slogans against the state and state institutions during a protest against lynching of two telecom employees by a mob in Karachi’s Macchar Colony.
An FIR was registered at the Artillery Maidan police station under Sections 131 and 153 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of state.
In the FIR, Sub-Inspector Nayyar posted in the Artillery Maidan police station stated that on October 30, he was present at the Karachi Press Club in connection with his duty, when at about 12:15pm, Sindh Sabha Party, Sindh United Party Karachi Division and Sajagi Forum Karachi Division led by Inam Abbasi, Elahi Bakhsh Bikak, Sarang Joyo, Ejaz Samito, Azad Jatoi, Nizam Noorani, Majeed and Rashid Khoso, among 180 to 200 people came to protest.
They kept raising slogans against the state and state institutions. After trying to incite the protesters for the purpose of rioting, all these people dispersed.
On the instructions of the superior officers, a case has been registered against the suspects and the investigation has been handed over to the investigation department in charge of the Artillery Maidan police station.
