Fisheries dept retrieves encroached land

Five acres of land in Mathra freed up from land grabbers

District administration here on Monday vacated five acres of land of KP Fisheries Department situated in the Sherabad area of town Mathra that was illegally occupied by land grabbers.

Taking notice of the complaint lodged by Director Fisheries, Ameer Hamza, Deputy Commissioner Shafiullah Khan had constituted a committee comprising Director Headquarters Fisheries Mohammad Ilyas Khattak, Superintendent Azizur Rehman and officials of KP Land Revenue Department.

The committee submitted its report on October 27 by identifying the exact location of the land.Assistant Commissioner Shah Alam in collaboration with KP Land Revenue Department conducted raids on identified area and retrieved the occupied land from the grabbers.

The raiding teams demolished entire infrastructure constructed on the land.

The alleged land grabbers have established a residential colony on the land by plotting three, five and seven marla plots for sale.

On the occasion, a heavy contingent of police was also deployed to meet any eventuality.
