Ever since Aliza Sultan submitted evidence in court of having suffered abuse at the hands of her ex-husband and actor Feroze Khan, domestic violence has become the centre of conversation on social media. Many celebrities, including Yasir Hussain, Iqra Aziz, and Osman Khalid Butt have voiced their thoughts on abuse. Joining them, Sanam Saeed has also shared her perspective on the sensitive matter.
While sharing a post on October being the month of awareness for domestic violence, the Zindagi Gulzar Hai actor expressed the "irony" of the situation. She also advised women to educate themselves about their "rights" and to "study" them. She said, "Know you're rights. Study them well."
Sanam then concluded her note by expressing solidarity with Aliza and other victims of abuse. "In support of Aliza Sultan and countless other women," she shared.

Prior to this, the Cake actor also urged authorities to pass the domestic violence bill in 2021. By sharing a list of recent crimes against women, she joined in the protest for the rights of women.

On October 2, 2022, Sanam raised her voice against the ongoing domestic violence, physical, emotional and sexual abuse and murder against women. She shared a poster full of red splatter on women, with the caption, "We're just not as safe as women anywhere."
