Urdu moot planned in US, Canada, Dubai

ACP is in the US on a 15-day visit to finalise the arrangements for the proposed conference

Almi Urdu Conference will be held in the USA, Canada, and Dubai next summer said a press release of the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) Karachi. ACP President Muhammad Ahmad Shah is in the US on a 15-day visit to finalise the arrangements for the proposed conference.

According to the decision of the governing body, it is proposed to hold the conference in Toronto on July 7 and 8, in Chicago on August 14, and in Dubai on August 15. Shah is meeting various organisations and personalities including the president of the Asian Society in America to make these Urdu language conferences a success.

In 1966, an MoU was signed between the Asian Society New York and the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, under which the two organisations had agreed to exchange exhibitions and programmes, the press release stated.
