Syeda Aliza Sultan and her ex-husband Feroze Khan have been making headlines since the former couple announced they are ending their four-year marriage.
In the same statement, Aliza accused Feroze of subjecting her to physical and emotional abuse. Recently, alleged pictures and medical records of Aliza being abused were submitted in court. Since then, many have come out in support of Aliza, hoping that the actor would be 'held accountable' for 'his actions.'
While Aliza garnered ample support on social media, there were some who called her out for 'playing the victim card' and why 'she didn't speak up during their years-long marriage'.
One of the celebrities who sympathised with Aliza was starlet Meruub Ali. Now, the actor has once again taken to social media and has rightly responded as to why domestic violence victims do not leave their abusive relationships.
"Just want to let you guys know that the victims of domestic violence try their hardest and longest to stay in a relationship and somehow mend it," she shared on Twitter. "They believe all the apologies that are given after their partner has been physically violent with them, always hoping they would change."

Meruub went on to add, "This is not the victim's fault, it's the perpetrator's. Violent men like these are also very manipulative and can easily start making the other person feel like it's their fault they pulled out this anger from them. Again, not the victim's fault. Plus, in a marriage, It's told you have to 'compromise' and always 'repair' a broken relationship and situation. I'm so glad Aliza stood up against this man. I'm so glad her family stood by her. Remember - a divorced daughter is so much better than a dead one."
Meruub concluded her note with a PSA to her followers. "This is for everyone reading - if a person, whether it be a guy or a girl even raises a finger at you, please know that they do not love you. Please leave. Run as far as you can from a relationship like that."
The documents, available with The Express Tribune, confirm that Aliza submitted harrowing evidence of alleged abuse at the hands of Feroze in the court, along with several medical reports, dating back to 2020 and 2021. Several accounts of alleged abuse were submitted, as per the documents. The pictures are apparent evidence of Aliza's earlier claims of being subjected to 'severe physical abuse' by the actor.
