Karachi Administrator, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, while regretting lack of attention to climate change and global warming in the past, said on Saturday, “We must try to deal with the problem today.”
“As a result of climate change, Sindh has been badly affected and Karachi is also facing problems. In order to transform Karachi into a green city, more trees will be planted and the local population will be involved in the decision-making process,” he said while addressing the World Mayors’ Conference C-40 through a video link on Saturday.
Barrister Wahab, who is also a spokesperson for the Sindh government and adviser to the CM on law, further said that he wanted to attend the conference in person but unfortunately could not make it because of the calamity that hit Sindh recently.
