PESHAWAR/ LAHORE:

Emergency meetings of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Assemblies have been called on the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to disqualify Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

According to Express News, the assemblies of Punjab, K-P and G-B will strongly react to the decision of the Election Commission.

The chief whip of the Punjab Assembly said that the emergency meeting will be chaired by Speaker Muhammad Sibtain Khan. In view of the political situation, the meeting has been called for October 22 at 3pm.

He said that the opinion of the members on the current political situation will be taken in the meeting and then a strong protest will be recorded from the floor of the house.

The chief whip said that the current assemblies without Imran are dummies. It is time to come out of the assemblies and appear in the court of the people and become their voice to bring “real freedom” to the country, he added.

The Punjab Assembly Secretariat also issued a notification regarding the meeting.
