PTI Chairman and former premier Imran Khan on Thursday lashed out at the ruling PML-N led coalition government, saying he would “rather die than serve these thieves”, adding that he would announce the date of his proposed long march in the next few days.
The PTI chief made these remarks while addressing the students at a ceremony titled “Education and Skills together” at the University of Sargodha.
The former premier noted that the country was at a crossroads and urged people to rise up en masse for “truth”, warning that society would be “destroyed” if a decision was not taken now.
He lamented that in Pakistan people who committed minor crimes were jailed while those who were involved in major offences were given NROs (deals).
“(Former military ruler) Musharraf jailed me. People there were involved in petty crimes. When I reached assembly, I saw robbers there,” he said.
“I have seen the world. Countries which are prosperous have the rule of law and the nations that are poor have no such thing as law.”
Imran said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif went to the United States to seek “funds”, adding that the gesture “compromised the nation’s dignity”.

He slammed both the PML-N and PPP leaders, saying Ishaq Dar had admitted that he used to transfer “Sharif family’s dollars abroad but was still made the finance minister”.
Imran said PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari was known as “Mr 10 per cent” and alleged that PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah had committed 18 murders.
He called upon the “neutrals” – a euphemism he often uses for the country’s establishment – to stand with the good and against the evil and not stay “neutral”.
The PTI chairman said he would announce the date of his proposed long march on the federal capital in the next few days.
“This is not politics but jihad for real freedom. I would rather die than serve these thieves,” he said.
Imran asked Punjab governor “who gave you the authority to stop political leaders from delivering speeches at the university?”
Referring to the Oxford University, the PTI chief said that not only local but world leaders address the students there.
