‘Who is Shanoo?’: Sonya Hussyn wants to know more about Saba Qamar’s secret lover
Sonya Hussyn wants to ask Saba Qamar a question that we’ve all had in our minds for a while. If you follow Qamar on social media, you know that love is in the air around her — it’s hard to miss the displays of chocolates, white rose bouquets and vacation pictures coming in every day. All we know is that the Kamli star gets her gifts from a secret admirer called Shanoo and that she is their pari (princess).
In conversation with Indian journalist Faridoon Shaharyar on an Instagram live platform, the 31-year-old actor spoke about her upcoming film Tich Button, the kind of dramas she prefers, the arch-rivalry between India and Pakistan and why one needs to rise beyond the differences.
However, the most interesting part was when the two went off-topic with a rapid-fire round that wanted a round of questions she’d ask other celebrities. When asked about what she’d ask the Ghabrana Nahi Hai actor, Hussyn thought for a while and then said, “Who is Shanoo?” with a contagious laugh.
“It’s a very curious question, and I think it’s one that everyone has these days,” she said.
The Saraab actor also had something to say to Bollywood legends Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, and the late Madam Noor Jehan. “After having such power, stardom, and with such great performances under his belt, how does he stay so humble?” asked Hussyn to the Main Hoon Na actor.
Regarding Bachchan, Mangeshkar and our very own Madam Noor Jehan, she didn’t feel she is qualified enough to ask them questions. “Bachchan jee is a boss. He’s a legend and so are the other two,” said Hussyn, sharing a verse by Allama Iqbal to describe the legends. "'Hazāroñ saal nargis apnī be-nūrī pe rotī hai, barī mushkil se hotā hai chaman meñ dīda-var paidā'. I think this beautiful verse fits perfectly on how they were gems,” she concluded.
On the work front, Hussyn is currently starring in the drama serial Mor Moharaan alongside Zahid Ahmed in the lead role. She will next be seen in Urwa Hocane’s debut directorial film Tich Button featuring Farhan Saeed. The action-packed romantic comedy is slated for release on October 28, 2022. She is also working on her next small screen project with a script penned by Umera Ahmed on what seems like a cop-related drama.
