PTI activist injured in gun attack dies of dengue

Sheikh was under treatment at a private hospital where he breathed his last in the early hours of Tuesday

KARACHI:

A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist, Talha Sheikh, died of dengue fever after surviving a bullet injury.

Sheikh was under treatment at a private hospital where he breathed his last in the early hours of Tuesday.

The deceased, Talha Sheikh, was coordinator of PTI leader Alamgir Khan. Sachal police station SHO Mazhar Awan said that the firing incident took place on October 7 in the Malik Society area of the Sachal Goth.

An unidentified suspect had fired a single shot at Sheikh who was standing outside his house in the morning.

A bullet hit Sheikh in his abdomen and pierced through his kidney.

The SHO said that Sheikh underwent an operation and his condition had stabilised.

However, during the recovery period, he contracted dengue which proved fatal. Police are trying to trace the attacker.
