Man held for torture, kicking mother out of house

CPO Rawalpindi directed SP Pothohar Tariq Mehboob Malik to conduct an inquiry

RAWALPINDI:

A 92-year-old mother was allegedly assaulted by her son who did not even consider his mother's ailment and threw her out of the house. The unfortunate incident occurred in the Wah Cantt area of Rawalpindi police station.

After a video of the elderly woman narrating her ordeal surfaced, CPO Rawalpindi Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari took immediate notice of the incident and on his directives, police arrested the suspect and registered a case against him.

According to officials, a video of elderly widow Kabar Nisan, a resident of Bhabra area of Wah Cantt police station, went viral on social media, in which the woman could be heard telling about the alleged abuse and torture carried out by her son who threw her out of the house.

The CPO Rawalpindi directed SP Pothohar Tariq Mehboob Malik to conduct an inquiry into the incident and arrest the accused. In light of the directives, the Wah Cantt Police registered a case against accused Asad Abbas Shah, based on his mother's statement and rounded him up.
