‘Youth’s role a must in combating drug abuse’

Ehsanul Haq said student organisations can play a positive role in eradicating drugs in educational institutes

Educated youth can play an imperative role in eliminating the menace of drugs from society as they are the future of any country, said Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Joint Director Ehsanul Haq.

He added that it was a well-known fact that the youth of any country was a great asset.

The top official asserted that national development, prosperity and elimination of social evils would be only possible if talented youth come forward to take the bull by its horns.

He met with the representative of Young Journalists Association (YJA) President Muhammad Yousaf Khan at ANF Headquarters. ANF Public Relations Officer Dr Noreen Kanwal was also present on this occasion. Ehsanul Haq was informed about the activities organised by YJA regarding drug prevention. While appreciating, he said that with the cooperation of ANF and YJA, seminars would be held in future to save youth from drug addiction.

He said student organisations can play a positive role in eradicating drugs in educational institutes. The YJA representative said his association will organise awareness seminars in all educational institutions of Rawalpindi and Islamabad in collaboration with ANF to eliminate the scourge of drugs.
