KARACHI:

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Sunday claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf openly resorted to unfair means during by-elections in Karachi.

At various polling stations, MPAs and MNAs of PTI came with armed goons to intimidate the voters and the electoral staff, Sharjeel said.

The Election Commission of Pakistan and institutions should take notice of the actions of Imran Khan and his followers.

"The blatant display of arms and hooliganism of PTI goons continued throughout the day at various polling stations," the information minister said.

"The PTI goons kept threatening and intimidating innocent voters. It is a matter of regret that the code of conduct of the Election Commission of Pakistan was disregarded openly without any fear or shame," he said.

Sharjeel continued that polling staff members were harassed in vehicle rallies, but no one noticed. The provincial minister appealed to the Election Commission of Pakistan to take notice of this hooliganism of PTI. He said that Imran Khan used every tactic due to fear of defeat.
