DERC vows strict measures to curb dengue spread

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Finance Syeda Amina Maududi directed staff to register cases against those responsible for violating dengue standard operating procedures (SOPs).

She expressed these views during a meeting of the District Emergency Response Committee (DERC) on Saturday, which was attended by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Health Dr Ahmed Nasir, district health officers and deputy district health officers and representatives of departments concerned participated in the meeting.

ADC Finance said that the poor performance of dengue surveillance teams would not be tolerated.

She added that citizens should also follow precautionary measures to prevent dengue. Maududi said that so far, cases were registered against 41 persons, who caused the spread of dengue during the month of October.
