Dengue claims two more lives in Hyderabad
Dengue hemorrhagic fever claimed two more lives in Hyderabad on Thursday, while 28 more tested positive for the vector-borne disease during the last 24 hours, Sindh Health Department figures stated.
So far four people have died of dengue fever in Hyderabad this year and 533 contracted the disease this month. According to Dr Muhammad Ali Qaimkhani, focal person for dengue at Civil Hospital, Hyderabad, 40-year-old Sikander Haji Ahmed, a resident of Kali Mori, lost his life to during treatment at Civil Hospital.
Similarly, 35-year-old Muhammad Atiq Muhammad Hussain, a resident of Pashuri Mohalla area of Faqir Ka Pir, also died after suffering from a dengue.
According to the area residents, Atiq was under treatment at home, but when his condition worsened, he was shifted to the hospital where he died.
It should be noted that according to the official statistics in Hyderabad, the number of patients who died due to dengue has reached to four, while the statistics of patients who died due to dengue while being treated at home is not available with the Health department.
