Students among fourteen injured in coaster-truck collision

Rescue officials say condition of all injured persons is out of danger, except the truck driver and his helper

At least 14 people were injured in a collision between a coaster carrying students and a truck near Jamali Bridge on Super Highway.

The injured were shifted to Dow Hospital and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Rescue officials told The Express Tribune that the condition of all injured persons is out of danger, except the truck driver and his helper.

The accident was so severe that the truck was destroyed. As soon as the incident was reported, the police and rescue workers reached the spot and shifted all the injured to the nearest hospital.

Police quoting eyewitnesses said the incident occurred when the student coaster took a turn it collided with the truck coming from the Sabzi Mandi at high speed.

Among the injured are 30-year-old Yusuf, son of Babar; 30-year-old Javed, son of Aslam; 50-year-old Mustafa Jameel; 50-year-old Nazar, son of Allah Diwaya; 25-year-old Adnan son of Ghulam Rasool; 50-year-old Khurshid, son of Munir; 15-year-old Shahryar, son of Muhammad Hasnain; 16-year-old son of Abid Hasan Jafari; 16-year-old Hassan, son of Junaid, 15-year-old Zain, son of Ghazanfar and others are included.

The students were taken to the nearby Dow Hospital, while the injured people on board the truck were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The condition of two of those shifted to Abbasi Hospital is said to be serious.
