Sealing of capital worries businessmen

ISLAMABAD:

The business community has expressed concern over the government’s move to seal the capital and asked it to remove containers from roads and allow people to carry out smooth business activities.

“Placement of containers at the entry points of Islamabad is a matter of grave concern for the business community and the government should avoid taking any such measure to seal the capital as it will destroy businesses and further weaken the economy,” said Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari.

He said that the business community had already suffered badly in recent years when the Covid-19 pandemic destroyed the industries. As a result, it was difficult for them to meet daily expenses.
