RAHIM YAR KHAN: Pakistan Railways has restored railway tracks near Liaquatpur which were suspended after a locomotive collided with a bogie late on Monday night. According to police officials, the Rohi Express engine was travelling from Rawalpindi to Khanpur and stalled near the Liaquatpur Railway Station. Meanwhile, Pakistan Express which was enroute to Karachi from Rawalpindi was stopped but the brakes of the engine failed and it crashed into a bogie of the Rohi Express. The Rohi engine fell on to an adjacent track and blocked railway traffic for over seven hours. Pakistan Railways restored the tracks after several hours and removed the engines. The damaged engines have been sent for repair and two trains have been stopped from plying the tracks until further notice. Railway officials cleared the area and have said that no loss of life occurred during the incident.
