PM wants uninterrupted gas supply in winter
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday directed the authorities concerned that uninterrupted gas supply to consumers should be ensured in the winter season.
He passed the directive while chaired a meeting in Lahore on Saturday regarding the supply of gas. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik, Adviser to the PM Ahad Cheema and other officers attended the meeting.
The representatives of Sui Northern Gas and Sui Southern Gas Pipelines attended the meeting and PM ordered the supply of gas to domestic consumers according to their needs.
It was decided to keep load-shedding of electricity at the current level.
Jumping on the criticism wagon, PM Shehbaz slammed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan over his purported audio leak regarding ‘buying’ MNAs.
The prime minister said that Pakistan welcomed the United Nations General Assembly's adoption of a resolution, supporting its reconstruction efforts.
On his Twitter handle, premiere stressed that the world should respond vigorously to the UN revised aid appeal and should provide access to climate finance and debt relief to Pakistan.
Premiere on Saturday chaired an important meeting on the farmers’ package and directed that the issues of the farmers should be resolved on priority basis.
National Food Security Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema, Advisor to the PM Ahad Cheema and officials concerned attended the meeting while some joined through video link.
It was decided in the meeting that the issue of wheat support price will be brought under discussion in the meeting of Economic Coordination Committee and federal cabinet.
He also directed the preparation of a subsidy package for an increase in the production of seed for cooking oil and set up a high-level committee regarding the farmers’ package.
He also ordered the preparation of a subsidy package in consultation with the provinces for resolving their issues regarding the prices of fertilizers and electricity.
