Separate curriculum for minorities likely
Any text promoting violence, intolerance or extremism in the society will not be a part of the textbooks of our curriculum, and such behaviours will be strongly discouraged, said Provincial Minister for Education Syed Sardar Ali Shah.
This was said during a meeting regarding the Sindh education curriculum on Thursday. National Curriculum Council Director of Dr Mariam Chughtai and Chief Advisor Dr Fouzia Khan were also present at the meeting.
While addressing the meeting, the minister said, "We are happy that our stand on curriculum has been recognised by the Federation".
Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah said that efforts are being made to ensure that no violence or extremism prose becomes part of the textbooks and such behaviours will be discouraged.
During the meeting, three initiatives were approved during the meeting. Firstly, the national curriculum core standards for four subjects English, Maths, Science, and Computer Science were finalised.
Secondly, a partnership between Sindh Education Ministry and NCC Secretariat on Teacher Professional Development was approved for public school teachers.
