The Provincial Minister of Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), Dr Muhammad Akhtar Malik, said that the people suffering from kidney and bladder diseases would now get excellent services with the introduction of the facility of urology surgeries at the Govt Shehbaz Sharif Hospital (GSSH).
He expressed these views after opening the ward in Multan on Monday. In view of the needs of the hospital, five ventilators would be given to the hospital in the next two days, the minister said.
The Secretary of Health of South Punjab, Muhammad Iqbal, and other officers and employees were present on the occasion.
The provincial minister also inspected various departments and wards during his visit and asked the patients about medical and other facilities being provided to them.
The Medical Superintendent of the GSSH, Dr. Rao Amjad Ali Khan, while briefing the minister, said that keeping in view the increase in kidney and bladder diseases, urology surgery services had been launched, and initially an eight-bed urology ward was established.
