Four policemen dismissed for torturing citizen

Four police officials who tortured a citizen in South Waziristan have been fired.

According to Express News, the police personnel had tortured a citizen in the Anguar Ada area of South Waziristan.

The news of the incident went viral on social media and South Waziristan DPO immediately ordered an investigation.

In the investigation, the police officers Constables Khursheed Alam, Atiqur Rehman, Gohar and Noor Islam were found to be involved in violence against the citizen, following which the four officers were immediately dismissed from their jobs.

South Waziristan DPO Atiqullah Wazir said that illegal treatment of common citizens will not be tolerated. An inquiry will be conducted against the officers and officials against whom complaints will be made, he added.

There is no place in the Waziristan Police for people who bring the police into disrepute, he further said.
