PTI chairman and deposed premier Imran Khan on Sunday said the nation would never forgive those who could have prevented the “foreign conspiracy” to oust his government from succeeding if they claimed to be “neutral” now.
Addressing a public gathering in Taxila, the PTI chief maintained that PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz wanted the US cipher – that he claimed carried the content behind his government’s ouster -- to be lost somewhere so that the people would never learn about the conspiracy between her uncle Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and America, but by doing so, she had revived the issue.
“They have started a new drama about the disappearance of the cipher while its master copy is in the office of the foreign affairs ministry … Maryam Nawaz can ask her ambassador about it,” he added.
Imran claimed that the current rulers had received another NRO (amnesty for past crimes) and they are trying to scare us every other day.
“[PPP Chairman] Bilawal came [to Islamabad] for the inflation march but people only remember him for his “kanpen tangrahi hain” gaffe [a slip of tongue where he actually meant legs are shaking],” he added.
The PTI chief said inflation in the country was at a 50-year high.
He repeated that the current rulers were doing nothing for the people after coming into power but only trying to end their corruption cases.
“They [the current rulers] have been forgiven for Rs1.1 trillion theft. From 2008 to 2018, Pakistan’s debt increased by four times,” he claimed.
The PTI chief said the current rulers had brought the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) under their control.
“Even Maryam had herself been acquitted [in the Avenfield reference by the Islamabad High Court,” he added.
The former prime minister maintained that the current government had made laws to facilitate the rich in money laundering.
Imran said Finance Minister Ishaq Dar was even more coward than PML-N supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. “Ishaq Dar wouldn’t have returned without a deal,” he added.
Lashing out at the chief election commissioner, the PTI chairman said he had been tasked with only one job and that was to somehow make the current rulers win the next elections via rigging.
The ex-premier also urged his activists and supporters to wait for his final call for a long march to the federal capital.
He added that the time for the call was not very far.
Imran challenged PM Shehbaz and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah to jail as many marchers as they could.
“You don’t have enough jails for us,” he maintained.
The PTI chief said the nation was prepared for “actual freedom” and so was he.
“I already know your plan, but you have no idea about mine,” he added.
