Two suspected terrorists killed in CTD raid
Two alleged terrorists were killed during a an operation conducted by Counter Terrorist Department (CTD) in Janjal Goth near Northern Bypass. Four officers were injured.
A woman and a young girl found, in the house where the alleged terrorists had taken shelter, were shifted to an unknown location.
According to DIG Asif Ijaz Shaikh, police received intelligence reports of terrorist hiding in a house located in Janjal Goth near Northern Bypass.
On the information, the CTD team raided the said house.
During the raid, the terrorists opened fire at the raiding team. As a result of the retaliatory firing, two terrorists were killed while four officers recieved bullet injuries.
The injured officers were shifted to a private hospital at Stadium Road, where two of them were said to be in critical condition.
The DIG further said that the exchange of fire continued for several hours.
He said that the woman and the minor girl were detained from the house and shifted to an unknown location.
CTD contingent, Rapid Response Force commandos and District Police also assisted CTD during the operation while the streets around the house were sealed.
He said that a large number of weapons were also recovered from the house.
The bodies of the deceased terrorists were shifted to a nearby hospital for legal proceedings.
Two held for killing woman
The CIA police arrested two suspects involved in the murder of a woman over old enmity in Surjani Town and recovered the van used in the crime.
On September 26, 2022, the accused killed a woman named Sultana Faqir Hussain, by strangling her to death.
According to SP Arif Aziz, after murdering the woman, the suspects carried the body of the woman in a van and threw it outside a wedding hall in Surjani Town.
Meanwhile, a video of the accused committing the crime was captured in the CCTV camera installed in the area, with the help of which the police was able to catch the suspects.
The two arrested suspects were identified as Nadir Ali and Umar Farooq.
The SP said that the incident was a result of old enmity.
The deceased was having an enmity with the suspects due to which she was killed. The accused entered Sultana Faqir's house with the plan to kill her, the SP said. The deceased was the resident of Bhattak Chowk Area in Surjani Town.
