‘More hospitals needed for province’

Minister says work on 23 large public hospitals underway

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said a network of government hospitals was being laid in the province.

She said Pakistan was a signatory of reducing the rate of maternal deaths of mother and child.

She added that 23 large government hospitals are being built in view of the increase in the population of Punjab.

The health minister expressed these views during visited the under-construction Mother and Child Block at Gangaram Hospital.

On this occasion, Fatima Jinnah Medical University Vice Chancellor Dr Shamsa, Gangaram Hospital MS Dr Athar, Project Director Ijaz Sheikh and C&W officials were present. Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid visited under construction mother and child block in Gangaram Hospital and reviewed the ongoing progress including the emergency and other departments.

Project Director Ijaz Sheikh and C&W officers gave a briefing to Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid.

Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said the under-construction Mother and Child Block in Gangaram Hospital Lahore has entered the final stages. The under-construction Mother and Child Block in Gangaram Hospital Lahore will be opened to the public soon.
