KARACHI:

The opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly, Haleem Adil Sheikh has that rulers are trying to gag the vioce of Sindh people but no one can suppress masses.

Addressing a crowded press conference in Sindh Assembly on Wednesday, he said the PPP-led Sindh government tried to frighten me by putting me in jail but Allah, the Almighty, granted me further courage.

He was flanked by MPAs Raja Azhar, Ali Aziz GG, Shahnawaz Jadoon, and Dr Seema Zia at the conference.

He said Sindh drowned in floodwater while the PPP is bent on keeping a hold over print and digital media as well as the social media so that no one can raise voice against them and point out government's wrongdoings.

Haleem said that a terrorism case was lodged against a senior citizen in Naushehro Feroze because he dared to protest.

He said it is the height of cruelty that in all over Sindh wheat flour is being sold at Rs120 per kilogramme while the Sindh government is spending millions of rupees on advertisements heralding their false claim of supplying flour at subsidised rate of Rs65 per kilogramme which is available nowhere.

The opposition leader said that a minister claimed that 700 stalls have been set up to provide subsidized flour to people which is not true.

He alleged that the rulers are trying to put Rs26 billion flour subsidy in their pockets, like tractor subsidy and Omni Group subsidy.

Haleem said that millions of flood affected people in Sindh are sitting under the open sky but no aid reached them.

He further mentioned, government claimed that more than 300,000 tents, 2800000 mosquito nets, cooked food and other relief goods have been distributed among flood-hit people, which is another lie of the govenment.

He said after audio leak of Imran Khan it is proved that conspiracy was hatched through cypher. "Our demand is to leak this cypher."

He said in audio leak of Nawaz Sharif they talked about importing machinery from India. In the audio they talked about ending health card, raising oil prices and instructions were given to the chief election commissioner.

Haleem said we demand a judicial commission on audio leaks.

He said acting speaker of Sindh assembly formed a parliamentary committee to oversee distribution of relief goods and two turncoats Shaharyar Shar and Sachanand were made its members while no opposition member was included in the committee.
