MDCAT likely on Nov 13 or 20

PMC president is currently holding meetings with VCs of provincial medical colleges

The Medical and Dental Colleges Admissions Test (MDCAT) will be held on November 13 or November 20 across the country at the same time, and all medical universities of Sindh, Islamabad, and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) have agreed that the syllabus will remain the same like the one available on the Pakistan Medical Commission’s (PMC) website.

According to PMC spokesperson Dr Naushad Ahmed Sheikh, who is also the president of the commission, is holding meetings with vice chancellors of the provincial medical colleges regarding the matter.

The VCs of medical colleges of the federal capital and K-P met with the PMC president. During the meeting, the strategy for successfully conducting the test at the provincial level was discussed.

The test will be conducted at the provincial level with the support of medical universities. The proposal to conduct it on November 13 or November 20 this year is under consideration.

All medical universities of Sindh, Islamabad, and K-P have agreed on conducting the test on November 13 or November 20. The syllabus of the test will be the same like the one available on the PMC website.

The PMC will conduct a single test for all the candidates across the country at the same time and on the same day. The MDCAT results will be declared subsequently after seven days.

It is worth mentioning here that regular MBBS classes are scheduled to start in February next year. The final decision of all the recommendations presented in the consultative meeting is subject to the council meeting.

The PMC president said that the quota of disabled students will be 2% in government medical colleges across the country. Students who scored less than 65% marks in the MDCAT last year will have to retake the test this year.
